"In case you folks don't know how good you are - professionally and as kind human beings - take my word for it. On those 'rough' work days that we all experience take a minute to congratulate yourselves on your excellence."

Canadians Are Living Longer.

Statistics Canada says Canadians are living longer and that combined life expectancy for men and women climbed past 80 in 2004. The agency says in 2004 life expectancy for men increased by 0.4 years to 77.8 years, while for women, it went up by only 0.2 years to 82.6. Between 1979 and 2004, life expectancy among men rose 6.4 years, while among women, it increased only 3.8 years. The report says a girl born in 2004 will likely live about 4.8 years longer than a boy born the same year. That's the smallest difference in life expectancy for the two sexes in 25 years.
